Shree Sharda Sharnam Shastra Saar

PRAYER TO MY GURUJI DADI BHAGWAN
PAYING OBEISANCE TO THE MOST VENERABLE SATGURU
“SHREE SHARDA DADI BHAGWAN”
Millions of greetings in reverence from all of us devotees

Our beloved Guruji, we need your blessings, that with your divine vision, may the treasure of love always remains filled in the heart of your devotees, may the Ganges of spiritual knowledge keep flowing.
May the feeling of selflessness keep growing, may the fire of monism never get extinguished. May with your golden directives the path of all the devotees is always illuminated. We shall never forget your prudence and passion. Will your sacrifices could be ever valued by us adequately? Even the pen does not have the power to write. What scale do we use to measure your devotion towards your Guru?
This is our only humble request – our adorable Guruji, our sweet God, bless us that by covering ourselves with the veil of your ideals, we keep on flying. Bless us never to forget your divine command “Beautify my creation”. May your love become an armour of our life.

Sabh Saadhan ka mool hai Satguru durlabh prem, prem bina thotha jaan

The root of all the means of attaining God is Satguru's exceptional love. Without love, everything is worthless.

Ek bujhe to paak, ek naa bujhe to na paak

The one who attains self-realization by understanding God is sacred, the one who unable to attain selfrealization is not sacred.

Ek boond brahm gyan ki mast kare din rain

A drop of Spiritual Knowledge makes day and night delightful.

Aisa kathin vrit lijiye jo le na sake koi, Ghadi ik bisrun Ram ko to Brahm hatya mohe hoye.

Take a firm pledge that no one else can “If I forget Lord, even for a moment, I would be guilty of committing a great sin.”

Dukh Sukh jhanko nahin, vairi meet samaan, Guru Nanak kahe vo hi moorat Bhagwan

One who is affected by neither happiness nor sorrow, has the same feeling for friend and foe, Guru Nanak Dev says, he himself is God.

Maan na maan, tu hi hai Bhagwan

Believe it or not you are yourself God.

Chal kabira vahan, Jahan Om bhi thak jaaye, Om, Om kahat Om hi rahiyo, baki rahiyo na koi.

Saint Kabir say’s “Let's go there where even the Aum gets tired. Chanting Aum, may only Aum remain, no one else.”

Jiyara hari nu dhyaye hari roop ban jaye.

One who meditates remembering God, he himself becomes the form of God.

Pehle bani praalabdh, peeche bana sharer. Tulsi aisa jaan ke, man na bandhe dheer.

Destiny is created first, then the body, Saint Tulsidas says, even after knowing all this, mind does not hold patience.

Santon ka sang, Satguru ka sang mastak ki rekhayein, mita deta hai, badal deta hai.

The company of Saints, the company of Satguru changes the destiny.

Paaya kahe so maskhara, khoya kahe so kudd (Jhooth), lekin gyan jyon ka tyon bharpoor.

One who says I have found is acting like a humourist, One who says I have lost it is untruthful. Spiritually knowledgeable is satisfied as always.

Na paya na khoya, sanshay mool chukaya.

Nothing found, nothing lost, cleared all the doubts.

Main shareer nahin, main brahm swaroop hun.

I am not a body; I am a form of God

Listening small and interesting Vachans which softens the heart, from my most beloved and my saviour Satguru Shree Sharda Dadi Bhagwan, I (Dimaa) achieved my goal. Found my destination. She lifted the curtain of my Jeev Bhav. She made me realize that my lovely God is within myself.

I know neither spiritual wisdom, nor meditation, I don’t even know your essence. Greatest of all is my Satguru who in her love made me perform self-determination of the soul and also by making me forget Deh (Here Deh stands for Deh Adhyasa), as well as perform self-immersion, has saved my honour.

This is how, at an age of 23 years, I understood from my Satguru what is soul-determination. Her inspiration was that "soul-determination" can be achieved only by being in the selfless and desire-less love of Satguru, but then too, it is important for a Jigyasu to have a little bit knowledge of scriptures. Complete accomplishment can be achieved only then.

Small topics which were effortlessly told and explained by her, today, I wish to explain them to my companions, to my children with love and motherly affection with the help of this book. I pray to my Shree Sharda Dadi Bhagwan that you may reside in this mind, these hands and this pen. Keep showing the right path. So that the determination of children (devotees), in Guru's love and spiritual knowledge stays strong in every way and with strength, they may beautify the creation. May they remain satiated themselves and make others satiate too. May they fulfil the promise made to Satguru.

Oh Gurudev, bless us that with the support of your simple teachings, wearing the armour of your commands, we could succeed in overcoming the woes of the world. Bless us that, we get out of our woes and with the help of your spiritual enlightenment, with your love, we get success in eliminating the woes of the entire society. "May everyone get your mercy; may everyone get your blessings. Oh God, may no one be sad".

Bless every heart to be prosperous. Bless all the lives in your world to be dynamic and strong.

Oh benevolent! Keep showering the blessings of your motherly affectionate sight. Reside in the wisdom of your children (devotees). I pray, bless us that we all your children, be horses of the earth and birds of the sky. Bless us that when needed, we become like an ant. We want such a power for the reason that only by becoming an ant we could eat that sugar which is in the form of God's name amongst the sand. Whatever might come in our way, you keep on awakening the power within us. Never let the waterfalls of love to dry. It's a firm belief that we will end up every matter with love.

"Sookhe channe chabayenge, eko Brahma lakhayenge".

We'll face any tough circumstances, but will keep praising your name, my Lord!

     God is omnipresent.

The pure conscious power - Brahma, who himself is the truth, consciousness and bliss, a wish arose within him that I am one, I should become many. "Svayambhu" i.e., self-manifested. Like the sea rises along with its waves, like the milk boils over the fire, similarly that divine power got emerged and spread. This divine power is omnipresent. It neither has a beginning, nor an end. This divine power, then got merged in the five great elements - Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Sky. This divine power became the creation. When it was seen that the cycle of the world cannot move only with that subtle creation, then that power, i.e., God wished to further spread and divide these five elements i.e., the five great elements into more parts, then only the cycle of the world can be moved. Thus, by making the five elements, the micro and macro business of the world, i.e., the cycle of the world was run. In this way the world originated.
     • Lord Brahma gave birth to the 'four Varnas' from his body parts.
     • He gave birth to the 'Sapt Rishis' i.e., seven sages from his body parts, who will guide the human race.
     • He created a female and a male, and said that now birth will not be 'self-manifested'.
     • A life will give birth to another life.
This is how, the creator of the creation is Lord Brahma.
Varnas: Varna refers to four social classes, i.e., Brahmins (priests, scholars and teachers), Kshatriyas (rulers, warriors and administrators), Vaishyas (agriculturalists and merchants), Shudras (laborers and service providers).
     • The word 'Veda' has been derived from the Sanskrit word - 'Viddham'.
     • 'Vidh Dhatu' means to know.
     • 'To know' means 'knowledge'.
     • 'Veda' means knowledge. Vedas are also called as 'Shruti'
     • The word Shruti is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Shru-Dhatu'.
     • 'Shru-Dhatu' means 'Shruti'
     • 'Shru' means 'to listen'.
     • 'Shruti' means that the sages listened to the Vedas and God manifested them from his austere mouth
In these 4 Vedas there are 108 main mantras. The prime goal of mantras is to give 'purity' meaning 'knowledge' to humans. Every object in Nature can become a subject of their thinking, contemplation and study. Hence, in addition to worshipping deities, they are even beneficial for business from the profit point of view. Through worshipping deities, one can be benefited by them.
108 major phrases of Vedas when threaded together, these phrases become rosary which, according to our religious scriptures is an elixir of Vedas for accomplishing all the acts. If you will pragmatically chant, study, implicate, contemplate, then surely your path of progress will be paved. May the world flourish. May every creature prosper. May every house stay happy.
"This is the voice of Vedas"
"God is omnipresent"
Vedas are of four types:

1. Rigveda -
It is the most ancient Veda. The Rigveda is a prayer of Deities. (Mantras - 108).
One can be benefitted of all the things in the world through prayers of the Deities. However, prayers should be without any wish and desires and with acceptance of God’s will.

2. Yajurveda
The principal Mantras - 108. It consists of the importance of Yagyas. Yajurveda Yagyas are performed for physical, mental, personal & community's progress.

3. Samaveda -
Stuti Mantras - 108 i.e., Mantras useful for praising God. Deities are praised by singing Mantras. The unstable and wandered mind attains peace.

4. Atharvaveda -
It consists of spiritual & worldly knowledge. Mantras - 108.

Yagya: Yajna or Yagya (Sanskrit: यज्ञ) literally means "sacrifice, devotion, worship, offering"

• According to the scriptures, "body” is compared to "Nature" and "soul" to " The Man".
• As nature is connected to 24 elements, similarly the body also has 24 elements.

• Five great elements (Five elements):
Earth, Ether or Space, Water, Air, Fire

• Five Senses (Praan - life):
     Sight, Taste, Smell, Word, Touch.

• Five sense organs (Jnanendriya):
     Eyes, Ear, Nose, Skin, Tongue

• Five organs of action (Karamendriya):
Mouth, Hands, Legs, Genitalia, Excretory organs

• Four Antahkaran (inner consciousness):
     Mind, Intellect, Conscience and Ego.

1. Sthula Shareer - Gross /physical body

2. Sukshma Shareer - Subtle/Astral body

3. Kaaran Shareer - Unconscious/casual body

<
“Description of Sthula Shareer i.e., the gross /physical body”

The gross body is made up of 24 elements.      Each element has five objects.
     1. Ether/space-element: lust, wrath, greed, attachment, ego.
     2. Air element: to run, to jump, to walk, to flow, to wander
     3. Fire element: hunger, thirst, sleep, laziness, appearance (form)
     4. Water element: blood, semen, mucus, urine, sweat
     5. Earth element: bones, flesh, skin and nerves.

The body which is made up of these 24 elements is called the gross /physical body. Through this gross /physical body man takes physical pleasure using outer senses.
For example: meeting someone, laughing, physical connection, getting attracted to the physical beauty.
With spiritual knowledge, ego of the gross/ physical body goes away.

<
“Description of the Sukshma Shareer i.e., Subtle/ Astral Body”

Subtle/Astral Body is made up of 17 objects.
     • Five sense organs (Jnanendriya): eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin
     • Five organs of action (Karamendriya): hands, legs, mouth, excretory organs, genitalia
     • Five Pranas: Prana, Apana, Vyana, Udana, Samana
     • Two Consciences: mind, intellect

There are hidden desires present within the subtle body. Such as the taste of tongue, an intense attachment or grudge resides in the mind. Even if abandons from the physical body, still the lust remains within the subtle body.
The destruction of the subtle body happens through scolding and reprimand by Satguru, by putting an end to one's mind, and by Satsang. There is no other way.

<
“Description of Karan Shareer i.e., Unconscious/ casual body”

• Unconscious body is only lack of spiritual knowledge.
• Even after spiritual determination, at times, one has a feeling of being a body. In many matters, Jigyasu keep falling from their internal state. One becomes heavy hearted, hold grudges due to the lack of spiritual knowledge in the unconscious/casual body. Realization of being a form of God is done through Satguru.
The Unconscious/ casual body comes to an end and then complete happiness is achieved.

1- Jagrut – the waking state
2- Swapna – the dreaming state
3- Sushupati - deep sleep
4- Turiya - super conscious state
Jagrut (the waking state):
The body is in the awakened state, along with the body, the mind exists too. The mind is asleep in the state of ignorance (Can we write spiritual ignorance in place of ignorance only for the first time?). Happiness-sorrow, profit-loss, in the state of ignorance, each thing, each matter keeps bothering the mind. The thorn of "Something missing" is within the heart. The state of ignorance will break, only after you meet a Spiritual Guru. Once Satguru makes a Jigyasu spiritually determined that “I am eternal, immortal", then he comes in the awakened state

Swapna (the dreaming state):
Dreams are of two types.
1. One dream is, while you are asleep, you keep watching the scenes. When you are ignorant of spiritual knowledge the world is believed to be real. You keep grinding in the wheel of happiness and sorrow.
2. One is the dream that is seen with closed eyes while you are asleep and the other is the dream while being awake with open eyes.
Sushupti (Deep sleep):
It is the state of such a deep sleep that the filthiness of the world doesn't seem visible anymore

Turiya:
Turiya means spiritual knowledge, your own spiritual determination that you are not the body, but a form of God. The one, whose mind is stable, focused, (a word for budhi has to be added, might be wisdom or anything will do) is away from the worldly bog, is immersed in the spiritual elixir, who is always with Guru, only he is in Turiya state. Turiya stage is the highest state among all.
The states of Jagrut, Swapna and Sushupati are applicable to human beings.
Turiya stage is confined only to a spiritually knowledgeable person. This proves that only spiritually knowledgeable person is spiritually awake and all other humans are in sleep of ignorance.

Getting stuck to anything, any substance, any thought, any circumstance or a person or your own principles is Maya. If any thought or desire gets stuck in the mind, then it is Maya of your mind. If the mind gets stuck in ego or deed, then it is the outside Maya. Getting stuck is a form of Maya. However, if the mind gets stuck in God, if it gets attached to God, then it is sweet Maya which comes from “Satto Gunn”, which unites us with God. Maya of my lord, one takes towards the world, one towards God.

“The three gunnas of MAYA”

1- Satto Gunn
2- Rajo Gunn
3- Tamo Gunn

1- Satto Gunn: The one who is in Sato Gunn is satisfied. Satisfaction, accepting gods will, being patient is his nature. Sometimes, the entire nature too feels to be in satto gunn. The whole environment feels to be peaceful.

2- Rajo Gunn: A person in Rajo Gunn is always upset (can we write “in turmoil”), with a disturbed mind (is not properly depicting chinna japti… is there any other word) and bustling in the body. Sometimes, the entire nature too feels to be in Rajo Gunn. (Bustle)

3- Tamo Gunn: A person in Tamo Gunn keeps is always lazy. He stays in his own comfort zone and selfish. Sometimes the entire, nature too feels to be in Tamo Gunn.

In nature, early morning, dawn is Sato Gunn, when the day starts is Rajo Gunn and at night is Tamo Gunn - (During the early morning i.e., dawn, Sato Gunn stays/dwells in nature, when the day starts, Rajo Gunn stays/dwells in nature and at night Tamo Gunn stays/dwells in nature). The Gunnas keep interacting (interchanging) with one another, the wheel of Nature and the body keeps moving on.

“What is Spiritual Knowledge?”

Knowing Nature and man, understanding the creation of Nature; rising above all the dualities such as happiness-sorrow, respect-disrespect, profit-loss, far-near and unionseparation; Acquiring the divine glimpse of the soul; spiritually determining that 'I am not a body, I am the form of God'. The whole world is not the truth, but a mere imagination. God is the only truth.
Whole Nature is changeable. God is present in each and every particle. There is a glimpse of the Lord in each and every particle (present in all the leaves or anything similar… since in original scrpt pata word is used).

How is Spiritual knowledge achieved?

Spiritual knowledge cannot be achieved without a true, selfless Satguru. A true Satguru has the power to make his devotees cross over through the worldly ocean by making them listen Vaani (divine speech) and with his resolution and gracious touch.
1. 'Ghatt Aakash':
The space of the pot. Thoughts applicable to your body 'Ghatt Aakash' have limits same as a pot. Even if a good thought arises, it cannot be put into practise. Thoughts remain suppressed. You are confined to the boundaries, and remain within the limits.

2. 'Matth Aakash':
The space of the room, emptiness inside the room; Matth Aakash is bigger than Ghatt Aakash. The difference that exists between the space of the pot and the space of the room, is similar to the level to which your thoughts are a bit elevated. But still have the same limits and boundaries.Your thoughts do not have complete vastness but surely are a bit elevated.

3. Maha Akash:
Sky, which is all pervasive, the space between the earth and the sky. All boundaries are broken. Is there any limit the between the earth and the sky? Even your thoughts cross the boundaries, principles and practices, and become like sky. Your thoughts become as light as a feather and comes into practise. Nature supports thoughts.
“Char Kharn” (The four forms of birth):
1- Andaj      2- Jeraj     3- Setaj     4- Utbhuj
1- Andaj: Form of birth from egg. Like offspring of birds, hen, etc.

2- Jeraj: Form of birth from the womb. Like the offspring of human, cow, goat, lion, etc. Form of birth from the womb, falls under Jeraj category.

3- Setaj: Form of birth from sweat. Like lice, bedbugs, insects, spiders etc.

4- Utbhuj: Form of Birth from Earth. Like trees, plants and metals.

"चार खाण में ब्रह्म था कहीं न पाया ठौर | सो फे रा कट गया सतगुरु ककया उपकार |"
"One, is a form of God in all the ‘Char Kharn’, but he still never found stability. With Satguru’s grace, that cycle gets ended"

• Adhyatmik Dukh      • Adhibhutak Dukh      • Aadidevak Dukh
• Adhyatmik Dukh:
These are the sorrows of one's own mind. Like, positive and negative thoughts of worry, grief, attachment, duality, grudges keep arising in the mind. Man considers himself as a being. This is the biggest sorrow of all. From Satguru, when spiritual knowledge, spiritual determination is attained, then the sorrow disappears.

• Adhibhutik Dukh:
This sorrow comes from outside, i.e., from snakes, scorpions, lion, etc., or from any other living creature

• Aadidevik Dukh:
These sorrows are caused by rains, water, sunlight, Deities. This happens because one does not accept God’s will and keep possessing happiness or sadness. The insect of disagreement keeps biting in the mind. The only medicine to millions of sorrows is “Spiritual knowledge”

1. Annamay Kosh   2. Manamay Kosh   3. Pranamay Kosh   4. Vigyanmay Kosh   5. Anandamay Kosh
1. Annamaya Kosh :
(Food Sheath) The birth of the body and the form, through blood and semen of mother and father , the upbringing through them, then the merge of that form into the Earth, such a physical body is known as Annamaya Kosh (Food sheath) . Annamaya Kosh is the home of sorrow, happiness and pleasures, and birth and death are its attributes. Rise above Annamaya Kosh and get spiritually determined that I existed even before the body existed, I even exist while the body exists, and I will exist even after the body expires. I am not the Annamaya Kosh. I am apart from the Annamaya Kosh.

2. Manmay Kosh (Mana – Mind sheath): Mind and the five sensory organs together is known as Manmaya Kosh. Being in the body, the ego of the body, attachment for other things like I am the doer , driving senses towards their pleasures (the one who drives senses towards their subjects) and Sankalpa-Vikalpa i. e. form of good and bad thoughts is said to be Mind. Vices such as lust and anger are in the mind. When you consider yourself as a body, then your mind is with vices but I am viceless. The mind is with good and bad thoughts, but I am viceless without any bad thoughts, so I am not Manmay kosh.I am apart from Manmay Kosh.

3. Pranmaya Kosh (Prana – Life force sheath): Five organs of action and the five Pranas together is(are) the Pranamaya Kosh.

Five organs of action:
Mouth, Hands, feet, gentilia, excretory organs(anus).

Five Prana (vital life force):
i. Prana:
Inhalation and exhalation of breath is(are) its function; the heart is its location.
ii. Apana:
The removal of faeces and urine from our body is its function and with other excretory organ(anus) is its location.
iii Udana:
To show dreams, to bring hiccups is its function, throat is its location.
iv. Samana:
To eat - to drink, to digest food and water and its transportation to various nerves and blood vessels is its function and the navel is its location.
v. Vyana:
To perform pulsation of all the body parts is its function and it is located along all the body parts

4. Vigyan Kosh (wisdom sheath): the recognition of the truth and the untruth, complete consciousness awakens, one achieves Vairagya. Thoughts become strong. There is a science along with spiritual knowledge There is also an understanding of knowledge of the world. You become attentive in all ways. You become all-rounder.

5. Aanandmaya Kosh (Bliss sheath): when spiritual knowledge and spiritual ignorance both ends, like removing a thorn with another thorn and then throwing both the thorns and then only happiness is left within. While remaining in such true thoughts, a unique peace is felt. That is called the Aanandmaya Kosh.

The soul is apart from the Panch Kosh, one awakens with spiritual knowledge, then there is no thought left, only a unique peace. Concentration and stability are present.

1.Mal(Dirt)     2- vikshep (Grudge )     3-Avaran (Curtains of ignorance)

1- Dirt:
The impurities of 'body consciousness' keeps accumulating on mind since several lifetimes. Like an object gets covered with rust, similarly human too gets covered with the dirt of addiction of pleasures. This dirt of the mind gets cleaned with, spiritual knowledge and with the Vachans of a spiritually - selfless Guru. 'Shree Sharda Sharnam Satsang' is good and quick cure to remove that dirt.

2- Grudge:
Dirt and curtains of ignorance gets removed with spiritual knowledge, but even Jigyasu hold grudges due to destiny of the body. With the determination of soul one starts believing in destiny and grudge keeps going away. Grudge does not go way Until monastic spiritual knowledge is attained. Ananya Bhakti is a mean to understand that "Everything is God, everywhere is God"

3- Curtains of ignorance:
Soul realization does not happen if curtains of ignorance exists. This curtain is removed with vachans and divine knowledge of selfless, desire-less Satguru. Only Satguru's divine vision can remove these curtain of ignorance. Through Shree Sharda Sharnam Satsang, soul realization happens all the time.

3) Vairagya: The Jigyasu, who aspires for spiritual knowledge, should have intense Vairagya ( detachment) within him. Without Vairagya, spiritual knowledge will not be proved. Vairagya is achieved by listening to divine speech of a true spiritual Guru.

1- Maitri (Friendship):
A true devotee, after being completely satiated, would keep a feeling of friendship with a true Satguru. So that, in friendship devotee doesn't feel spiritual knowledge to be difficult. True satguru too, becomes egoless of being a guru, becomes a friend, the devotee then easily achieves spiritual knowledge, attains the state of thoughtlessness, attains salvation during his lifetime and lives a desireless life. Being selfless, he can beautify the world, can be friendly with others so that no one in the world finds difficult to attain spiritual knowledge. Everyone receives love in friendship."Shree Sharda Sharnam Satsang" teaches friendship, and helps in removing hatred.
2- Karuna (Compassion):
Satguru has compassion. Leaving his own happiness, he blesses his devotee too with compassion so that no one remains void in the company of his devotee.
3- Mudita (Getting delighted in other people's well-being):
Being happy to see someone progress, in material or spiritual world, is Mudita. True Guru wants to see his devotee to progress more than himself. This is his Mudita. Then, even devotee, watching his fellow devotee progress, will not feel jealous, envious or hatred instead he will feel happy. This is his Mudita.
4- Upeksha (Nonattachment):
He will become so nectareous after being in Vairagya that he will not be able to live without Guru. He will love truth so much that he will dislike the world.
